Lokah Chapter 1: Malayalam cinema has introduced a brand-new superhero universe with Lokah Chapter 1 – Chandra. The Malayalam movie, headlined by Kalyani Priyadarshan, has struck a chord with audiences for its gripping storyline, strong performances, and visually appealing narrative. Since its release, the movie has already collected Rs 31 crore at the box office and is being hailed as a fresh step forward for Indian superhero films. Even more exciting for fans is the possibility of a sequel. Though the makers have not made an official announcement yet, the ending of the film and its post-credit scenes strongly hint that Lokah 2 is on the way. A surprise cameo by popular Malayalam star Tovino Thomas has given viewers reason to believe he will play a pivotal role in the second chapter.

Towards Malayalam movie Lokah Chapter 1’s conclusion, several clues are dropped about what could unfold in the next instalment. A character named Charlie is briefly mentioned before the camera cuts to an unexpected cameo by the film’s producer, Dulquer Salmaan. While Charlie’s purpose is not revealed, the bigger surprise comes in the form of Tovino Thomas’s character.It appears that Tovino will portray Chathan, a goblin-like figure who steps in to help Neeli and her friends escape the menacing Inspector Nachiyappa. However, before the story’s climactic showdown at the safehouse, he disappears, leaving audiences intrigued about his future role. 

Meanwhile, adding to the suspense, the post-credit sequence shows an unidentified man interrogating Chathan about a failed archaeological mission. The only evidence from this expedition is a mysterious image of a goblin. When asked about it, Chathan replied that it could be him or one of his 389 lookalike siblings. This clever twist has left fans eager for answers in the sequel. While no official sequel confirmation has been made, the post-credit teasers and Tovino Thomas’s cameo strongly suggest that Lokah 2 is already in the works. Fans will now be waiting eagerly to see how the story of Chandra, Neeli, and the mysterious Chathan unfolds in the next chapter of the Lokah universe.

Since hitting theatres on 28th August, Lokah Chapter 1 – Chandra has had a solid run at the box office. The Malayalam movie opened at Rs 2.7 crore on its first day and rose to Rs 4 crore on day two. Collections surged on day three to Rs 7.6 crore, followed by a record-breaking Rs 10.1 crore on day four. By the fifth day, the film had earned another Rs 6 crore, bringing its total to Rs 31 crore within the first week. This strong performance suggests a steady demand and boosts the chances of the planned franchise moving forward with Lokah 2. Alongside Kalyani Priyadarshan, the film features Naslen, Arun Kurian, Chandu Salimkumar, Nishanth Sagar, Raghunath Paleri, Vijayaraghavan, Nithya Shri, and Sarath Sabha.
