The new reality show The Traitors, which debuted on June 12 on Prime Video has already got viewers talking with the release of just three episodes. Conflicts, new intense drama and unexpected twists inside the house have raised eyebrows, leading netizens to ask 'Is The Traitors scripted?’. Amid this buzz, Arjun Kapoor’s sister Anshula Kapoor, who is among the contestants of the show, addressed this issue by posting a video on social media. She defended Karan Johar's show by stating that not even 1% of a script was given to any of the 20 participants.

Is The Traitors scripted?

Anshula Kapoor took to her Instagram handle and answered the most asked questions in her DMs. In the video, she said, “Is The Traitors scripted? How can this be the number one DM in my DMs right now? Traitors is not scripted. There was not 1% of a script given to any of the 20 participants of this show.

She added, "First, let’s start with everything that went down to get us to start filming that first episode. There was so much secrecy. We weren’t told who our fellow participants would be. When we were flying from Bombay also to shoot for this, I think Elnaz, Ashish ji, Sufi, and Jannat were on my flight. To keep it as secret as possible, even during the check-in process at the airport, we were given different slots. We were given a shadow our own personal valet."

To make it more secretive within them too the makers even divided the 20 participants into two different hotels. She revealed that they were sent from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer two days before the shooting.

In the video, Anshula stated, “And this hotel while we were getting checked in, they literally were like, ‘Okay, you’ll have your phone for like three hours more, and then tonight somebody’s going to come.’ Not just phones, all the electronic equipment, they were taking it all. But it was all about isolation because they didn’t want us to form alliances outside the show.

Not only this, she also shared how they worked for 16 to 18 hours a day for the show.

About The Traitors: The Karan Johar has brought mixed of personalities to the show from the entertainment industry. The show features 20 players playing traitors and innocent games. Besides Anshula Kapoor, the show stars Ashish Vidyarthi, Elnaaz Norouzi, Harsh Gujral, Jannat Zubair, Janvee Gaurr, Apoorva Mukhija aka The Rebel Kid, Jasmine Bhasin, Maheep Kapoor, Mukesh Chhabra, Nikita Luther, Purav Jha, Raftaar, Uorfi Javed, Sudhanshu Pandey and Sufi Motiwala. The Traitors premiered on Prime Video on June 12, 2025, with new episodes airing every Thursday at 8 PM.

So far, four contestants have been evicted including Karan Kundrra, Raj Kundra, Lakshmi Manchu and Sahil Salathia.
