Suneel Darshan’s trajectory in Bollywood has been one of the most important contributions in the cinematic world. With movies like Dosti: Friends Forever, Talaash: The Hunt Begins, Andaaz and others, Suneel’s work has always spoken for himself. His collaboration with actor Akshay Kumar has also proved to be successful, especially for the actor, as it helped him revive his career after hitting rock bottom. The duo joined hands for the first time to release a commercially hit movie Jaanwar in 1999, and went on to work with each other on several movies like Ek Rishtaa: The Bond of Love, Andaaz and more.
Jaanwar director Suneel Darshan recently talked about the comparisons between Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Akshay Kumar’s Jaanwar at the time of the release of the movie Animal. During a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Suneel accused Animal’s director Sandeep Reddy Vanga of copying Akshay Kumar starrer movie. On being asked about whether he would like to remake any of his movies, the director shared, “Main kaise banaun? Meri filmon ki nakal itne log kar chuke hain. Ek film hai Jaanwar. Jaanwar ka English kya hota hai? Uski kahaani kaunsi hai? Aapne Animal dekhi hai na? Aapko pata hai na kaunsi kahaani hai?”

He also added that he did not make any claim on his work because the director’s treatment was very unique, but if he had acknowledged the truth, it would have been much better. Suneel also shed light on why he never made any claims in the past as well when people copied his work. He revealed that according to him, he is still inspiring people to make blockbuster movies. Suneel further continued to reveal that Salman Khan’s movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan is also inspired from Jaanwar’s story. Sueel truly believes that stories are always born from inspiration, and it is his achievement that can still inspire people through his work.
