Homebound is India's official submission for the Best Foreign Film category at the 2026 Oscars, which made Kapoor's tribute all the more heartbreaking after the screening. Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and director Karan Johar, attended the film's Mumbai premiere on Monday. In fact, Hrithik Roshan, Vicky Kaushal, Tamannaah Bhatia, Twinkle Khanna, Farah Khan, and several big names attended the movie's grand premiere. For Janhvi, the Mumbai premiere was an extremely special event. But why? The actor wore one of her mother's Manish Malhotra archive sarees to honour Sridevi at the ceremony.
Janhvi Kapoor was dressed in a royal blue and black saree with gold embroidery, which her mother had worn to the 2017 wedding reception of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. She completed her ensemble by styling it with a black velvet blouse and adding a sleek hairdo, a choker necklace, and statement earrings.
