Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar extended his Independence Day wishes on social media, reminding followers that India's freedom was earned through immense sacrifices by numerous freedom fighters. However, a troll attempted to provoke him by suggesting he should celebrate on August 14, hinting at Pakistan's Independence Day. Javed Akhtar swiftly shut down the troll, proudly asserting his Indian heritage by revealing that his ancestors fought and sacrificed for India's freedom, unlike the troll's ancestors who likely supported the British.
Javed Akhtar took to X and wrote, "Happy Independence Day to all my Indian sisters and brothers . Let’s not forget this independence was not given to us on a platter . Today we must remember and salute those who Went to jails and those went to gallows for getting us Azaadi . Let’s see that we never lose this precious gift."
Reacting to the lyricist's wish, a user commented, "Aapka happy independence to 14th August hai."

Akhtar's response to the troll was sharp, saying, "Beta, jab tumhare baap-dada angrez ke jootay chaat rahe thay, tab mere aazadi ke liye jail aur kala paani mein thay. Meri ragon mein desh-premion ka khoon hai, aur tumhari ragon mein angrez ke naukaron ka." (Son, when your ancestors were licking the boots of the British, mine were in jail and Kaala Paani fighting for independence. I have the blood of patriots in my veins, while you have the blood of British servants).
Beta jab tumhare baap dada angrez ke joote chaat rahe thay mere buzurg desh ki aazadi ke liye kaala pani mein mar rahe thay . Apni auqat mein raho .

Additionally, PM Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, a Rs 1 lakh crore scheme aimed at empowering India's youth by providing financial incentives for first-time private sector employees, with Rs 15,000 support for new hires.
