Jaya Bachchan has made headlines several times for her unpleasant interactions with the paparazzi in the past. On Tuesday, the actress was spotted at the prayer meet of the late film director Rono Mukherjee, who died just a few months after the passing of his brother Deb Mukherjee. Shweta Bachchan, Kajol, Amit Kumar, Salim Khan and other Bollywood personalities attended the prayer meet to pay their heartfelt respects. While leaving the Mukherjee residence, Jaya Bachchan scolded the paparazzi for their intrusive behaviour.

Jaya Bachchan confronted the paps and said, "Chaliye aap log bhi saath mein. Aajaiyye. Bakwas sab, gande gande se sab." The actress was visibly pissed at the media for capturing such a private event. As she was walking down the stairs with Rono’s son Samrat Mukherjee, the paparazzi gathered around her, making her even more furious. She asked Samrat in Bengali, "Eder kano daako (Why do you ask them to come)?" He replied, "Aami daakini (I didn't call them)." Shweta Bachchan can also be seen helping her mother get inside the car. Right at that moment, Jaya can be seen snapping again at the cameraman who was trying to record her. She yelled, “Aao, aap gaadi mein aajao."

This fiery interaction went viral, generating mixed reactions on the internet. Some criticised her rude behaviour, while others supported her need for personal space. A comment read, “But she is right, funeral prayer is no place to click a photo. And she comes from a generation that takes this thing seriously. Even my mother would have reacted the same, so why is she wrong?" Another user wrote, “She has so much attitude."

This was not the first time when Jaya Bachchan was seen having a questionable interaction with the paps. Her comments like, “Abhi aap log itna direction mat dijiye” and “Ye koi jagah hai ye sawal puchne ka” have gone viral on social media, which has resulted in the opening of the treasure box of memes by several trolls.
