Jolly LLB 3 Row: Akshay Kumar and Arshar Warsi’s upcoming Jolly LLB 3, found itself embroiled in legal trouble. The petitioners alleged that the trailers of the movie and the song, Bhai Vakeel Hai, showed the members of the Judiciary in a bad light and asked the court to stop the film's release and remove the song. On Wednesday, the Allahabad High Court dismissed a petition seeking action against the movie, stating no objectionable content was found.
Allahabad HC Dismisses Plea To Halt Jolly LLB 3 Release
After a plea seeking to stop the release of Jolly LLB 3, which claimed the film defames the legal profession, the Allahabad HC reviewed the trailer and song and declared its decision. As per the News 18 report, a Division Bench of Justice Sangeeta Chandra and Justice Brij Raj Singh properly examined the matter before delivering their verdict. The court said, “We did not find any objectionable matter to warrant interference by this Court. We have also gone through the lyrics of the song 'Bhai Vakeel Hai' and we do not find anything which may interfere in the practice of the legal profession by genuine Advocates."
On August 20, the Pune court issued notice to actors Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi and director Subhash Kapoor regarding their upcoming film Jolly LLB 3, following a complaint filed by lawyer Wajed Rahim Khan. In the petition, he alleged that the film portrays the legal profession in a derogatory manner and mocks legal proceedings. He raised concern over a scene in the film where judges are referred to as 'mamu,' a slang term. With the ruling of the court, the much-awaited release of Akshay and Arshad starrer remains on track.
Jolly LLB is a comedy legal drama starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi in lead roles alongside Saurabh Shukla, Amrita Rao and Huma Qureshi. The franchise kicked off with its first instalment in 2013 with Arshad Warsi in the lead, and became a success. It was followed by the 2017 sequel, Jolly LLB 2, starring Akshay Kumar. Now, both the Jollys are coming together in Jolly LLB 3 with their hilarious, chaotic legal battle. The film is set to release on 19th September, 2025.
