Kaantha Release Date Out: Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati have announced the new release date of their highly anticipated film, Kaantha. The actors revealed an intense new motion poster on the occasion of Diwali, confirming that the period drama will now hit theatres worldwide on November 14, 2025. Earlier, the makers had postponed Kaantha to give space for Rana Daggubati’s recent success Lokah to continue its strong run at the box office. Initially, the film was meant to release on September 12, 2025, but the delay in post-production also contributed to the shift in date.
Sharing the update on social media, Dulquer and Rana wrote, “Diwali just got a whole lot more explosive! #Kaantha will be lighting up theatres worldwide from November 14th! Wishing you all a happy Diwali and we’ll see you in cinemas very soon.” Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, Kaantha is a period horror thriller set in the 1950s Madras. The story revolves around the mysterious life of a legendary filmmaker, offering a gripping mix of suspense, ego clashes, and psychological drama.

Kaantha stars Dulquer Salmaan, Bhagyashree Borse, and Samuthirakani in key roles. Bhagyashree, who was recently seen in Kingdom and Mr. Bachchan, plays an emotionally rich and endearing character. Meanwhile, Samuthirakani plays a rival actor who locks horns with Dulquer’s character, leading to a clash of egos between two stars of the same era. Kaatha is produced by Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati, and a significant portion of the budget has gone into creating elaborate sets to reflect the charm of the 1950s. The film promises stunning visuals, thanks to Dani Sanchez-Lopez’s cinematography and Tha. Ramalingam’s meticulous art direction. The music is composed by Jhanu Chanthar, while Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalves handles the editing.
