Kaantha Teaser OUT: Dulquer Salmaan is gearing for the release of his upcoming Tamil movie Kaantha. The teaser of the thriller movie was unvled today marking the actor’s 42nd birthday. The movie is set against the backdrop of the golden age of Tamil cinema. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, known for the Netflix documentary The Hunt for Veerappan, Kaantha marks his debut as a feature film director. Following the success of Lucky Baskhar, expectations are high for Dulquer’s next big project.
Dulquer Salmaan took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the teaser of the Tamil movie Kaantha with the caption, “Celebrate the golden age of silver screens with us. Watch the first teaser of @kaanthamovie, out now on YouTube.” The movie is slated to hit theatres on 12th September 2025. The teaser of the movie is released in two languages: Tamil and Telugu. The release of the teaser has generated significant buzz among the fans who were long waiting to have a glimpse of the Tamil movie since its announcement.
Tamil Movie Kaantha Cast
The Tamil movie also features Bhagyashri Borse and Samuthirakani in key roles. It's a collaborative effort between Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media and Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, aiming to merge traditional and modern storytelling. The technical team includes Dani Sanchez Lopez (cinematography), Llewellyn Anthony Gonsalvez (editing), and Jhanu Chanthar (music). Ramalingam is in charge of art direction, while Poojita Tadikonda, Archana Rao, and Harmann Kaur handle costume design. Allwin Rego is responsible for sound design, and Deccan Dreams manages the visual effects.
Tamil Movie Kaantha Plot
The Tamil movie's teaser introduces Dulquer as a struggling star actor facing both personal and professional hurdles. Samuthirakani, referred to as 'Ayya', portrays a director who was once a mentor to the actor but is now a distant figure. Their relationship appears strained, characterized by emotional distance and unresolved tension. Bhagyashri Borse is also featured as an actress, though her role's specifics are not detailed in the teaser.
