Kajol, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie Maa, recently got embroiled in controversy over her remarks about Hyderabad’s iconic Ramoji Film City. Her statement about the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad being haunted went viral, sparking a heated debate online. Amid massive trolling, Kajol issued a clarification on the same on social media. Contrary to her earlier comment, she called it absolutely safe for families and children.

While promoting her film Maa, Kajol shared how Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad, is considered one of the most haunted places in the world. After this viral statement, the actress on her X handle addressed this, by stating, "I wish to address my earlier remark about Ramoji Film City in the context of promoting my film MAA. I have filmed multiple projects at Ramoji Film City and stayed there many times over the years. I have always found it to be a very professional environment for filmmaking and I have seen so many tourists enjoying themselves. It’s a great destination and absolutely safe for families and children."

After her recent post, fans praised for her clarification on her viral comment. One user wrote, "Thank you for your thoughtful clarification, Kajol ma'am. Your grace in addressing the matter is truly admirable, while another user posted, "Appreciate the clarity and grace in addressing it. Ramoji truly is a landmark for cinema and tourism alike." Another comment read, "You really need not do this. There are multiple stories told by multiple people who experienced. Sad that people trolled you and all. Truth is truth at the end. You spoke out. Others didn’t that’s it."

What Did Kajol Say About Ramoji Film City?

Kajol was asked if she had ever sensed a negative energy while shooting. She told Galatta India, “I have experienced this multiple times. Call it negative energy or vibes, but sometimes, when you go to a place, you feel like something isn’t right. I’ve shot at places where I couldn’t sleep all night. I felt like it would be better if I just left."

To explain her point, she took Ramoji Film City's name as an example, stating, “It’s considered one of the most haunted places in the world. I’ve been lucky not to have seen anything paranormal, though." However, netizens trolled her for this on social media.

Talking about Kajol's upcoming movie Maa, which is helmed by Vishal Furia. Besides Kajol, the mythology horror drama also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta and Surjyasikha Das in key roles. Maa is bankrolled by Jio Studios and Devgn Films and is presented by Jio Studios. The movie is slated to hit the screens on June 27.
