Kajol is all set for the release of her upcoming highly-anticipated movie Maa. The movie will hit the theatres on June 27, 2025 with Kajol essaying the titular role. Recently, Kajol opened up about turning older, stating that it is not a big deal. Kajol further shared her views on cosmetic surgery, stating that it is a ‘dicey’ subject. “One should be sure whether it’s necessary to change that feature of the body,” she said.
In a conversation with Filmfare, Kajol said, “It’s not a big deal. A reminder of whether you are heading in the correct direction in life. I’ve been moving in the correct direction.”
“Cosmetic surgery is a dicey topic. If I had a birthmark and if it was disabling me from getting somewhere, I’d get it removed. Victims of acid attacks and fire need such surgery. Cosmetic surgery, on the other hand, is the individual’s prerogative, a personal choice. But it cannot be something like I want good cheekbones, so let me have them. One should be sure whether it’s necessary to change that feature of the body. If yes, then go for it,” she further explained.
Kajol gears up for Maa
Maa has been directed by Vishal Furia and bankrolled by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande. It has been co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. The movie also stars Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma and Ronit Roy. It is about a mother who transforms into Maa Kali to end a demonic curse rooted in fear, blood, and betrayal. The movie will have its theatrical release on June 27, 2025.
