Akshay Kumar starred as Lord Shiva, Prabhas played the role of Rudra, Kajal Aggarwal essayed the role of Parvati in Vishnu Manchu's movie, Kannappa, among many others. The Telugu language mythological drama combines devotion, scale and breathtaking sights. The two-hour and fifty-minute movie released in theatres in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages. As people celebrated the release of multi-starrer movie, filmmaker Mukesh Kumar Singh spoke exclusively to The Daily Jagran about Akshay Kumar. He lauded the actor for his dedication despite his massive stardom.

Kannappa director heaped praises on Akshay Kumar for making everyone around him comfortable be it the spot boy, producer or the director. He said, "Not only discipline, he's (Akshay Kumar) a kind of person who makes everybody feel comfortable around him. When he talk to anybody, to spot boy, to producer, to director to co-actors, to assistants, you'll feel like a brother is talking or a father-figure like. It depends on the relationship. You will never feel like a superstar is talking to somebody else. You will never get this energy. You will only get energy of somebody very close to you. He creates such an atmosphere on the set that nobody feel threatened. We don't have to think that some huge star is there, we have to behave differently, we have to be careful."

Calling Akshay Kumar a 'military man,' Singh shared, "He works like a workaholic. He will come on set, and until you will not tell him to leave, he will not leave the set. He give you certain timeframe and for that timeframe, he's like a military man with you. It was a great learning experience for me." He added, "Certainly, he is a very nice human being and still he is so curious to do best."

Mukesh Kumar Singh recalled an incident while shooting for Kannappa when Akshay Kumar called him late at night for a rehearsal. He acknowledged that Akshay Kumar wants to do better despite achieving everything. "He came we did one rehearsal and then at night he called me again around 10 PM - 'Sir can you come again? We can have a rehearsal for tomorrow.' We have to deliver so much lines and different language, and because it's not his every day language so he put all his effort. Again we had a two hours reading session. Although, he always sleep early, but that day he was awake till 12. So he can be perfect next day," he recalled.

The director concluded, "Even after achieving everything, he want to do more better and better, so that is a mark of great man. That's why he's sustaining in so long."

He also makes an appearance in front of Thinnadu following the latter's enormous sacrifice after he turns into a devout Shiva Bhakt. In addition to naming Thinnadu Kannappa, Lord Shiva declares him to be his greatest disciple ever.
