Hombale Films’ Kantara: Chapter 1, helmed by and starring Rishab Shetty, has been one of the most anticipated films of the year. Following the massive success of Kantara released in 2022, the film is all set to spark another cinematic revolution. The recently released trailer received a thunderous response, breaking multiple records and highlighting the immense anticipation among fans.
As the release date approaches, Kantara: Chapter 1 has cleared the censor board with a UA certificate, and notably, with just a single cut. This milestone underlines how audience-friendly the content is, ensuring a universal appeal. With such promising signs, the film is poised to be a spectacular treat for moviegoers worldwide, further cementing its place as one of the biggest cinematic events of the year.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is set in the 4th Century AD, unraveling the sacred origins of the mystical land of Kantara. This chapter dives deep into its rich mythology, age-old conflicts, and divine interventions, weaving a saga of folklore, faith, and fire, born from the very soil of the land. The film features Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, PD Satish Chandra, Prakash Thuminad and an ensemble of talented actors, bringing this epic tale vividly to life.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is one of Hombale Films’ most ambitious undertakings. The creative team includes music director B. Ajaneesh Loknath, cinematographer Arvind Kashyap, and production designer Vinesh Banglan, all of whom have shaped the film’s powerful visual and emotional narrative.
Moreover, Hombale Films is leaving no stone unturned in carrying forward the legacy of this 2022 masterpiece. The makers have curated an extensive war sequence for Kantara: Chapter 1 with national and international specialists, involving over 500 skilled fighters and featuring 3,000 people. This sequence was filmed in an entire town spanning 25 acres on rugged terrain, over a period of 45–50 days, making it one of the biggest sequences in the history of Indian cinema.
Scheduled for a worldwide release on October 2, the film will launch in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English, reaching audiences across languages and regions while remaining deeply rooted in its cultural core.
