About Kantara Chapter 1
Backed by Hombale Films and featuring music by Ajaneesh Loknath, the movie is scheduled to hit cinemas worldwide on 2nd October 2025. The Kannada movie will feature an epic war scene involving 500 trained fighters and over 3,000 extras. This particular sequence was shot over 45-50 days in a sprawling 25-acre location, promising an unforgettable cinematic experience. The Kannada movie is being made on a much larger scale with a higher budget. Not only will Kantara Chapter 1 be released in multiple Indian languages, but it will also include a Bengali version to reach a wider audience across the country. The shoot is currently in full swing, with the entire team working hard to wrap it up on time.
Meanwhile, there were reports of a boat accident on the film’s set at the Mani Reservoir in Karnataka. According to a report in NDTV, Rishab Shetty and some crew members had a close escape. However, the production team later clarified that no such incident had occurred. The executive producer confirmed, “No one was on the boat when it tipped over, and no accidents took place. The set, which included a ship prop, was affected by strong winds and rain, but fortunately, no one was nearby, and there were no injuries or damage.”
Kantara Chapter 1 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Indian films of 2025. With a powerful storyline, high production value, and Rishab Shetty’s strong performance, the prequel aims to surpass the high benchmark set by the original film.
