Kantara Chapter 1: Rishab Shetty’s much-awaited Kannada movie is just two months away from its release. Ahead of the big release on October 2, the makers of the film have been sharing some looks of the main characters. Earlier, Rishab Shetty’s rugged look was unveiled in July, along with the announcement of the release date. Today, on the occasion of the Varamahalakshmi Festival, Rukmini Vasanth’s first look has been out as Kanakavathi. She looks like a royal princess in the traditional getup. Although the makers have not shared any details about her character, they have confirmed Vasanth as the lead actress in the film.

Rukmini Vasanth can be seen adorned with gold jewellery with a traditional South indian red and green saree look. She looks ethereal and royal at the same time. While sharing the look, the makers wrote on their social media handles, “Introducing @rukmini_vasanth as ‘KANAKAVATHI’ from the world of #KantaraChapter1. In Cinemas #KantaraChapter1onOct2.”

Kantara Chapter 1 was written and directed by Rishab Shetty, who also played the lead role in the movie. It is the prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara. The movie promises to explore a fresh emotional chapter of Kanatara universe with visually rich storytelling, intense performances, and a narrative deeply rooted in Indian culture. Arvind S. Kashyap has done the cinematography of the film and B. Ajaneesh Loknath has given the soul-stirring music. The movie has been backed by Hombale Films. Kantara Chapter 1 is slated to release October 2 worldwide in several languages including Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, and English.

Kantara, the original movie released in September 2022. The film was made on a minimum budget of Rs 16 crore but earned Rs 309.64 crore in India, Rs 407.82 crore worldwide. The film then featured Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Kishore Kumar G, Manasi Sudhir, Shanil Guru, Prakash Thuminad, Achyuth Kumar and Vinay Bidappa in prominent roles. Rishab Shetty won the Best actor award at the 70th National Film Awards.
