The infamous high-profile inheritance battle, surrounding Karisma Kapoor and late businessman's widow Priya Sachdev, has caught eyeballs across the business as well as B-town circles. Kareena Kapoor has subtly entered the conversation around the intensifying legal dispute over the late Sunjay Kapur’s multi-crore estate. A clip from Mandhira Kapur Smith’s appearance on the podcast InControversial with Pooja Chaudhary was shared online and Kareena — who was once Sunjay’s sister-in-law — liked the post.
The podcase had a caption, reading, "If these people think we don’t know our own blood… THINK AGAIN. Said Mandhira Kapur Smith, sister of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur, as she sat down on InControversial to speak about the ongoing Rs 30,000 crore inheritance battle that has gripped headlines, courtrooms, and social media."
"From questioning the authenticity of the alleged Will, to calling out what she calls ‘impossible errors no brother would ever make’, Mandhira puts her version of this story on the table without filters. This isn’t gossip. This is part of an ongoing legal fight. And the stakes include legacy, lineage, her mother and future of two children at the centre of it all. You’ve read the articles. Now hear her stance," the caption further read.

In the video, Mandhira said that her family knows its own bloodline and accused Priya of trying to erase their legacy despite only being associated with the family for a few years. She questioned Priya’s right to represent the Kapur family, criticised the absence of any blood relatives at the Sona Diwali pooja, and called the situation "robbery" and "fraud". Mandhira added that being asked to sign an NDA for their own estate was unacceptable and vowed to fight for what she says is her family’s and her children’s rightful inheritance.
Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur married in 2003 but separated after years of conflict, finalising a contentious divorce in 2016. After Sunjay later married Priya Sachdev, his sudden death on 12 June sparked a major dispute over his Rs 30,000 crore estate. Questions about the will, signature validity, and escalating accusations between Mandhira and Priya have turned the issue into a widely publicised inheritance battle.
