Amitabh Bachchan welcomed the audience and shared a touching postcard from a devoted fan who conveyed their love for Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 before the show's premiere. Two competitors, Harshit Sharma and Kashish Singhal, advanced to the Jaldi 5 after the host's quickest finger first round following the warm start. Delhi based Kashish eventually earned a spot in the hot seat.
Kaun Banega Crorepati 17's latest contestant successfully earned Rs 50 lakh but failed to answer Rs 1 crore question, care to dare? Here's what it was:
Question - "Which king of the Visigoths demanded pepper, which ancient Rome typically traded from India, as ransom to lift a siege on the city?"
A) Ludovic, B) Aymeric, C) Alaric, and D) Theodoric.
The correct answer was option C – Alaric.
Amitabh Bachchan subsequently explained how the Romans loved Indian spices so much that they even exchanged gold for the exports.
With the decent amount that Kashish Singhal won, she will be able to pay back the Rs 15 lakh debt that her father took out during a family emergency. Host Amitabh Bachchan was impressed by the Delhi-based candidate, who also told a heartwarming anecdote that brought everyone to tears. She explained that being a part of KBC allowed her to fulfill her parents' dreams.
