South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun has filed a complaint against late actress Kim Sae Ron's family and social media personality Kim Se Ui. The Queen Of Tears actor has accued Sae Ron's family of spreading false information by using an AI-generated audio. According to Koreaboo, Kim Soo Hyun's legal team released a statement, "Kim Se Ui and the late Kim Sae Ron’s family went beyond merely spreading false information based on a forged audio file. They even filed a criminal complaint against actor Kim Soo Hyun, accusing him of false charges and violations of the Child Welfare Act. This is a clear and serious case of false accusation."
Two months ago, Kim Se Ui held a press conference where he played an audio recording that allegedly featured the voices of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron. In the clip, the Queen of Tears actor was purportedly heard admitting to having dated Sae Ron while she was still in middle school. The alleged voice of Kim Soo Hyun stated, “The first time [we had sex] was around the winter break of my second year in middle school.”
Kim Soo-Hyun faced public backlash over allegations of dating Kim Sae Ron, a minor, for six years starting in 2015. He denied these claims multiple times. Despite his long-term partnerships, several brands, including Cuckoo Electronics, have cut ties with him due to the negative publicity. The legal disputes are ongoing, with multiple court cases and asset seizures involved.
Recently, Kim Soo Hyun sold one of his luxury apartments in the esteemed Galleria Fore complex in Seoul. He clarified that the sale was not a reaction to financial strain. The transaction, finalised on July 3, involved a spacious 170.98 ㎡ unit that was sold for a substantial 8 billion KRW (approximately 6.15 million USD).
Notably, Kim Soo Hyun had initially purchased this property in 2014 for 3.02 billion KRW, making the sale a profitable venture for the actor. Despite the sale occurring shortly after he became embroiled in a high-profile lawsuit, where advertisers were seeking damages, Kim Soo Hyun's camp has moved to dispel rumours that the sale was a hasty response to financial pressures, instead framing it as a business decision.
