Indian-American artist Lisa Mishra has returned with a new single titled Teri Hoon, a heartfelt love ballad that delicately explores the emotional depths of romance between two women. Released in the first week of Pride Month, the song goes beyond melody to become a poetic tribute to queer love. Known for her unique voice and expressive songwriting, Lisa has also delivered popular tracks like Tareefan from Veere Di Wedding, Aa Mil with Zaeden, and Sajna Ve with Vishal Mishra.

Teri Hoon song marks a shift from Lisa’s previous releases as it is more personal, intimate, and emotionally raw. Co-composed and performed by Lisa herself, the track plays like a gentle confession, full of longing and the quiet hope of being understood. Inspired by her experience portraying Niki in Netflix’s web series The Royals, Lisa felt moved to create a song that captures the soft but powerful essence of queer love.

The lyrics are written from the perspective of one woman to another, and the music video embraces this with a graceful ambiguity. Featuring contemporary dancer Isha Sawant, the video artfully blurs the line between reality and emotion, leaving viewers to decide whether Isha is a lover or a reflection of Lisa’s inner world. This deliberate ambiguity speaks to the universal vulnerability that comes with love.

Speaking about the song, Lisa reportedly said, “This song is very close to my heart. After spending the last few months immersed in The Royals—a show that helped me grow as an actor—it felt like the right moment to return to music, my first love.” She further reportedly explained that Teri Hoon is an ode to enduring and meaningful love, and she hopes to bring back the magic of classic romantic ballads created with real instruments.
