Lokah OTT Release: Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen K Gafoor’s latest Malayalam superhero movie Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra hit theatres on August 28. Since its release the Malayalam movie has been ruling the box office, doing significantly good. Earlier buzz surrounding the film's digital premiere had surfaced online, with reports suggesting that it will premiere on Netflix. However, producer Dulquer Salmaan cleared the air and slammed the reports, calling them 'fake news'. He also questioned, 'What's the hurry?'. Following his statement, actress Kalyani Priyadarshan also added, emphasising that Lokah is an experience best felt in a theatre atmosphere.

Now, recent reports suggest that the Malayalam movie Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is finally gearing up for its OTT release. The movie will reportedly stream on Jio Hotstar on 20th October 2025, coinciding with the Diwali festival. Although no official statement from the production house has been made. 

About Lokah Chandra Chapter 1 Movie

Lokah also stars Santhy Balachandran and Chandu Salim in key roles. Helmed by Dominic Arun, the movie promises a thrilling experience with a blend of fantasy, mythology, and superhero elements through compelling performances. It is also the first-ever female superhero movie in Malayalam. The movie follows the story of Chandra (played by Kalyani Priyadarshan), a yakshi summoned by Moothon, the leader of a league of superheroes (voiced by Mammootty). She arrived in Bengaluru with a mission, and her neighbour, Sunny, sets out to unravel her mystery, leading them on an unexpected adventure ride together.

Meanwhile, the Malayalam movie Lokah is said to bemade on an approximate budget of Rs 30 crores. The movie has recently reached a significant milestone as it became the highest-grossing Malayalam release in Kerala, surpassing Mohanlal's Thudarum with a total collection of approximately Rs 118.94 crore over 39 days. According to Sacnilk the movie collected Rs 84 lakh on 5th October.
