Lokah OTT Release Update: Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen K Gafoor starrer Malayalam superhero movie Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra released in theatres on August 28. The film has been roaring at the box office, achieving phenomenal success. Amidst its ongoing theatrical run, buzz surrounding the film's digital premiere has surfaced online, with reports suggesting that it will stream on Netflix. However, Dulquer Salmaan, producer of the film, has broken his silence on the OTT rumours. He slammed the reports, calling them 'fake news'. He also questioned the urgency, asking, 'What's the hurry?'. Following his statement, Kalyani Priyadarshan also added, emphasising that Lokah is an experience best felt in a theatre atmosphere.

Lokah OTT Release: Dulquer Salmaan Reacts To Film's Rumours

Taking to X handle, Dulquer confirmed that Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra is not coming to OTT anytime soon. His post read, "Lokah isn't coming to OTT anytime soon. Ignore the fake news and stay tuned for official announcements! #Lokah #WhatstheHurry."

Reacting his statement, Kalyani Priyadarshan echoed the same sentiment and wrote, "With the visuals, sound and Jakes’ incredible musical score… I think this would be an experience that’s best felt inside a theatre atmosphere."

What Is Making Lokah A Blockbuster?

Directed by Dominic Arun, Lokah offers an interesting blend of fantasy, mythology, and superhero elements through compelling performances from the cast. It marks the first-ever female superhero movie in Malayalam. The story revolves around Chandra (played by Kalyani Priyadarshan), a yakshi summoned by Moothon, the leader of a league of superheroes (voiced by Mammootty). She arrives in Bengaluru with a mission, and her neighbour, Sunny, sets out to unravel her mystery, leading them on an unexpected adventure ride together.

Besides Kalyani Priyadarshan, Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra also stars Naslen K Gafoor, Santhy Balachandran and Chandu Salim Kumar in key roles. The film was made on an approximate budget of Rs 30 crores. Kalyani Priyadarshan has earned Rs 271 crore globally and Rs 133,75 crore net in India, as per Sacnilk report. Lokah, backed by Dulquer Salmaan under his banner Wayfarer Films, is full of captivating performances and an eye-catching cinematic experience resonating with audiences.
