GlobeTrotter Official Title Announced: SS Rajamouli’s next big action film, featuring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has officially been titled Varanasi. The announcement was made at a grand fan event held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where almost 50,000 fans gathered to witness the reveal. The event was also streamed live on JioHotstar, turning it into a huge moment for Indian cinema. Hosted by YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani and Telugu presenter Suma Kanakala, the programme showcased the film’s first official visuals. Mahesh Babu made a striking appearance in a motion poster where he rides a massive charging bull, holding a trishul, while ancient temple structures stand tall behind him. The title Varanasi flashes on screen at the end, confirming weeks of speculation.

Varanasi film’s teaser was shown on a huge 130 ft x 100 ft screen, creating a cinematic moment fans will not forget. Prior to the reveal, the makers had already introduced Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Mandakini and Prithviraj Sukumaran as Kumbha through striking character posters. The excitement intensified when Rajamouli posted on X, confirming, “The title of the film will be revealed along with a visual to the world… Once it airs on the big screen at the #GlobeTrotter event, we will make it live online.” Many fans online reacted with enthusiasm, praising Mahesh Babu’s intense and heroic look. Early social media reactions included admiration, speculation about the storyline and comparisons with Rajamouli’s earlier works.

Inside The Grand GlobeTrotter Event 

According to reports, the event was one of the biggest ever held in Indian entertainment. According to a report in IANS, “The Grand Globetrotter Event on November 15 is shaping into a cultural moment in itself. The scale being planned is unlike anything the industry has attempted; we are looking at over 50,000 fans gathering under one roof. It will be the biggest-ever stage and screen in films across the world, with a 100 ft height and a 130 ft wide screen.” The report further added, “With Prithviraj’s powerful first look as Kumbha setting the internet ablaze and excitement rising by the hour, the event is now gearing up for a movie announcement that the country is looking forward to. The magnitude, energy, and build-up are unprecedented, turning this into one of the biggest events ever mounted in Indian entertainment.” The atmosphere at Ramoji Film City was filled with cheers as Mahesh Babu’s bull-riding visual was projected on the massive screen.

Varanasi marks Rajamouli’s first film after the global success of RRR (2022), which won an Oscar for the song Naatu Naatu. Though the film’s puja ceremony was held in January, most details were kept secret. Shooting has taken place in Kenya, Odisha, and Hyderabad, hinting at a large-scale adventure. Early reports suggest the story might involve a treasure hunt featuring the three key characters, though the makers have not confirmed the plot.
