Palash Muchhal-Smriti Mandhana Wedding Postponed: Mary D’Costa has issued a clear statement after her name was dragged into the controversy surrounding Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s postponed wedding. With social media filled with claims linking her to the couple’s sudden decision, D’Costa has now clarified her position and denied all rumours. The wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has become a major talking point after it was unexpectedly put on hold. What began as a health emergency involving Smriti’s father soon turned into a storm of online speculation when screenshots of Palash’s alleged flirty chats with Mary D’Costa surfaced. These screenshots, reportedly first posted on Reddit by D’Costa herself, quickly spread across social media platforms, leading many to believe she played a role in the postponement.

Taking to Instagram, Mary D’Costa issued a detailed note to clear the air. She explained that her interaction with Palash lasted only from April 29 to May 30 2025 and insisted she never met him in person. She further added that she had exposed the chats months earlier, in July, but they went unnoticed because Palash was not widely recognised at the time. D’Costa also addressed widespread confusion about her identity. Many users had assumed she was the wedding choreographer or the woman Palash allegedly cheated with. She wrote, “I want to clarify that I am not the choreographer, and I am not the person he cheated with. I never met him and was never involved with him.”

Smriti Mandhana And Palash Muchhal Wedding Postponed

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s wedding was originally scheduled for November 23, 2025 in Sangli, Maharashtra. Their sangeet and haldi ceremonies had already taken place when Smriti’s father suffered a sudden heart-related health issue and was hospitalised, forcing the families to postpone the ceremony. Shortly after, Palash himself was admitted to a Mumbai hospital due to exhaustion and stress. What intensified the online buzz was Smriti Mandhana deleting all pre-wedding pictures and videos from her Instagram profile. Her close friend and teammate Jemimah Rodrigues also removed all content from the ceremonies, adding to the speculation about trouble between the couple.

Meanwhile, responding to the growing backlash, Palash Muchhal’s cousin Neeti Tak came forward to defend him. In an Instagram story, she urged people not to jump to conclusions based on rumours. “Palash is going through a critical condition today. Do not judge him without knowing the truth. Please pray for him,” she wrote. Despite online chatter, neither Smriti nor Palash has issued any public statement addressing the cheating allegations or the viral chats.
