Sunjay Kapur Will: Karisma Kapoor’s children, Kiaan and Samaira, have approached the Delhi High Court demanding a share in the assets of their late father and businessman Sunjay Kapur. The legal battle over the estate worth around Rs 3,000 crore has taken a drastic turn as the Delhi HC resumed the hearing of the plea filed by Karisma’s children. Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, representing Samaira and Kiaan's case, claimed that Kapur's will had allegedly been forged to disinherit his children from his first marriage.
According to a report by NDTV, advocate Jethmalani argued in court, "There is something very secretive about this will." He stated, "This will does not involve Sunjay Kapur... and we were notsupplied with any documents either."
Jethmalani also pointed out the loopholes in the will, including an incorrect daughter's address and repeated misspelling of one son's name. He argued, "Sunjay Kapur was in great health and his Indian property was secured by a tight trust. The circumstantial evidence is so completely contrary it leads to assumptions... that the contents of the will are bad. I say this based on his phone conversations with his 'disinherited' children."
The lawyer for Karisma Kapoor’s children further argued that, "He had a very good relationship with his children. So how could he have written his daughter's address wrong and misspelled his son's name in multiple places?"
The Kapoor family is embroiled in a high-stake legal battle as Karisma Kapoor's children seek their rightful share of their late father's personal estate.
The current case involves a plea by Samaira and Kiaan to contest the validity of Sunjay Kapur's will, presented by his second wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur. Karisma's children have claimed that Priya gained full control of Sunjay's assets, allegedly forging a will after his death in the UK.
Making forged will claims, Jethmalani called out "ominously uncertified document." In court, he stated, "We have no idea what happened to the will. It was modified on March 17. It is not clear who modified it... but it was modified again on March 24."
In response, Priya Kapur's lawyer claimed that the modified dates of the MS Word document's digital record were "because the file was being uploaded."
Jethmalani countered, saying, "There was a modification on March 24. They have not explained it. On March 21 the question of the will was over. Why a three-day delay? Now there are two 'wills'."

Jethmalani also discussed the existence of a secret WhatsApp group, revealing chats in court as part of the investigation.
Last week, lawyer Jethmalani referred to Priya Sachdev Kapur as a "Cinderella stepmother," accusing her of being 'greedy' for her late husband's Rs 3,000 crore estate.
