Mona Singh, who was last seen in Aryan Khan's directorial debut Ba***ds of Bollywood, has done numerous TV shows like Kya Hua Tera Vaada, Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do, Kavach... Kali Shaktiyon Se and gathered critical praise for her work. Her television breakthrough came with Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin in 2003, which became a staple show in almost every household. The actress also hosted Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 4 and was adored by fans for her skills. Talking about her decision to quit the world of television, Mona recently revealed that the web series and movie world suits her schedule best and also allows her more personal time.
Mona Singh, in an interview with Bombay Times, said, "Working three months on one web show is perfect. You get your break, you come back fresh and ready to step into a new character. OTT works best for me. Otherwise, TV has crazy timelines, especially when you are playing the protagonist." She further added, "When I did TV, the shows would air from Monday to Thursday, but now they air throughout the week. Oh my god! I wonder if these people even have a personal life."

Mona Singh also talked about her personal and long-considered decision to quit Television. She added, "I've bid farewell to TV, with all due respect. There isn't much left for me to do anything there. I think I have done everything, daily soaps, reality shows and hosting. This was a conscious step to move ahead.” Mona concluded her take on this drastic switch with, "The switch wasn't easy; I waited patiently for the kind of roles I wanted. It took time, but it was worth it. I'm doing films too. I have three coming up next year, and I'm happy to be balancing movies and OTT."

After working in the Television industry for a long time, Mona made her long-overdue debut with 3 Idiots in 2009 alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aamir Khan. She was also seen in Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022 and Munjya in 2024. She recently did Thode Door Thode Pass, and it became one of her most applauded shows on Zee5.
