After making a strong mark in the Pan-India market, Indian cinema is now preparing for its next big leap global storytelling. Several upcoming films are being created with international audiences in mind, combining Indian themes with world-class production and ambitious scale. These projects aim to cross borders, set new standards, and showcase Indian filmmaking on a global stage. Here’s a look at the most exciting titles that are expected to make a worldwide impact.

Ramayana

One of the biggest films in the lineup is Ramayana, which is being produced on a truly international scale. The production team includes experts who have previously worked on Hollywood blockbusters like Dune and Interstellar. The music is another major highlight, with legendary composers Hans Zimmer and Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman joining hands for the project. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, the film is expected to bring Indian mythology to global audiences in a visually grand and modern way.

Varanasi

Another major project is SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, designed as a globe-spanning adventure. The story travels across different time periods and locations—from 512 CE Varanasi and a futuristic asteroid in 2027 to Antarctica, Africa, ancient caves, and even 7200 BCE Lanka. The film once again features the Oscar-winning composer M. M. Keeravaani, along with a star cast that includes Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Early visuals showcased at the Globe Trotter event have already created a global buzz due to their impressive VFX and massive scale.

Spirit

Spirit, starring Prabhas and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is another film aiming for an international audience. The film features Korean superstar Don Lee, who will be making his Indian debut. With Don Lee’s strong global fan base and the film’s large-scale action, Spirit is expected to appeal to viewers across countries.
