Dipika Kakar, a popular TV actress, underwent a 14-hour-long surgery in May 2025 after being diagnosed with stage two liver cancer. The surgery removed a tennis-ball-sized tumour from her liver. The actress is currently in her healing mode and focusing on her ‘target therapy’, which includes opting for oral medications. During the entire phase, Dipika’s family stood strong beside her and acted as a pillar of strength in difficult times. Talking about the same, the actress recently took to her YouTube channel and talked about the emotional reunion with her father.

Dipika Kakar uploaded a vlog on her YouTube channel and revealed that several fans have asked her about her father’s visit when she was admitted to the hospital. She addressed the same concern and said, "Toh aaj bhi Papa aaye hain, papa actually pehle bhi milne aaye the aur hospital mein bhi aaye the par main uss recovery phase mein thi. So I think meri surgery ke baad aaj pehla din hai jab humne sukoon se aise time spend kiya hai, aur baat cheet ki hai. Hospital mein bhi jab papa aaye the tab bhi unhone kaha tha ke jab tak main usse dekh na loon mujhe tasalli nahi milegi."

Dipika Kakar thanked her father and other family members for standing beside her during the rough path of her life. Praising her daughter, Dipika’s father mentioned, "It's completely natural - the bond between parents and their children is truly special. When a baby cries, a mother can easily understand whether the child is hungry or if their diaper needs changing, just by the way they cry.”

Sasural Simar Ka actress further showed the meeting of her father with her husband Shoaib Ibrahim. Dipika revealed that whenever her father met Shoaib, he always lifted him up and gave a tight hug. The actress continued to talk about her bond with her papa and said that he is an emotional man, and whenever she meets him, it makes her emotional.
