Kiara Advani is currently embracing motherhood. Amid this, she has bagged a new project- a biopic on Bollywood’s Tragedy Queen Meena Kumari. The movie is titked Kamal Aur Meena and was announced by Siddharth P Malhotra in 2024. According to a report in Mid Day, Kiara Advani has been finalised to play Meena Kumari in Kamal Aur Meena. Kiara will learn the basics of Urdu for the role.
Mid Day cited a source saying, "The negotiations were going on for months. In Kiara, the director has found a performer, who carries vintage Bollywood charm and has the emotional depth to do justice to Meena Kumari’s life." The shoot will reportedly begin in the first half of 2026, which gives Kiara enough time to prepare. The source further added, "It gives Kiara enough time to prepare, as she will have to pick up the basics of Urdu."
Sidharth P. Malhotra, in association with Saregama and the Amrohi family, has acquired the rights to Kamal Aur Meena, a film that will portray the timeless real-life love story of renowned filmmaker and writer Kamal Amrohi and iconic actress Meena Kumari.

Malhotra unveiled the teaser of Kamal Aur Meena in September last year, with the makers revealing at the time that the project was in its casting phase. He wrote in the caption, "With access to over 500 handwritten letters exchanged between Kamal Sahaab and Meenaji as well as personal journals detailing their life together the insights and research we have in telling this story in invaluable. It’s a profound privilege to direct this incredible true story, though the responsibility is immense."
Kiara Advani welcomed a baby girl in July this year. She announced on Instagram, "Our hearts are full and our world forever changed. We are blessed with a baby girl."
Earlier reports suggested she was set to star in Maddock’s Horror Comedy Universe film Shakti Shalini, but she was later replaced by Aneet Padda. Rumours also linked her to Don 3, though it has now been reported that Kriti Sanon has taken over the role. Kiara was last seen alongside Hrithik Roshan in War 2 and will next appear in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, co-starring Yash, Nayanthara, and others.
