Deepika Padukone's exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit has become a hot topic of discussion. Tt has been reported that the actress demanded an 8-hour-working shift, a profit cut sharing and a ballpark remuneration of Rs 20 crore. Amid controversy, actor Rana Daggubati has offered a balanced perspective, providing a nuanced view amidst divided opinions.
In a conversation with The Lallantop, Rana said, "We should understand that India is a developing country. We are not a developed nation. Our economy is probably 186th in the world if you look at per capita income. In a country that has 1.8 billion people and 70–80 percent of those earn Rs 100 a day, when we start seeing things in that light, we realise we have a big place to catch up."
He further added, "I come from an industry that moved from Madras. It was a bunch of families and hundreds of others who packed their bags and started over in another city. So to me, it’s not work—it’s a lifestyle. Like in Maharashtra, it’s a 12-hour shift. In Telugu, it’s 8 hours. But while Maharashtra starts at 9 am, Telugu starts at 7 am. If you’re on location or in a studio, if you’re shooting on a set—it all affects the equation. It’s never generic."
"Nobody is forcing anybody. It’s a job. Just like nobody forces you to do a particular show—it’s always a choice. Everyone decides what’s important in their life. There are actors who shoot for only 4 hours—that’s their system," said Rana.
Deepika Padukone has been roped in for Atlee's next big-budget movie AA22xA6. The film also stars Allu Arjun in lead role. Deepika made an announcement via her Instagram handle. She wrote in the caption, "The Queen marches to conquer! Welcome onboard @deepikapadukone #TheFacesOfAA22xA6 #AA22xA6 - A Magnum Opus from Sun Pictures @alluarjunonline @atlee47 #SunPictures #AA22 #A6."
The post received immense love from fans, as evident from the comments section. A user wrote, "That's the queen of bollywood deepika Padukone for y'all," another one commented, "She asked for better working conditions since she has a kid to look after too. She asked for profits share becoz she is confident in her talent and the movie. She didn't ask for any outrageous thing like babysitting fees or anything. As a woman, I don't feel its injustice that she asked for those - if she has asked anything else to finance her personal decisions and choices it may had made more sense," a netizen wrote, "Guess who's crying now. The one who can never match the Aura of Deepika Padukone," others also dropped similar reactions.
