They Call Him OG Box Office Collection Day 8: The festive season has brought cheer to the box office, with Dussehra holidays giving several films a much-needed boost. Among them, Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG has emerged as a clear winner. The film, directed by Sujeeth, has now crossed the Rs 170 crore net mark worldwide and continues to be a smash hit. At the same time, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 has also made a strong entry in the Telugu market. While it poses competition to OG, the makers of Pawan Kalyan’s film are not concerned, as the film has already secured profits.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 168.41 crore net in India by Thursday, making it one of the biggest successes of the year in Telugu cinema. On Day 8, the film collected Rs 6.81 crore in India, while worldwide earnings stood at nearly Rs 8 crore. Due to the holiday rush, the film also saw over 60% occupancy, a strong figure considering it is in its second week. Although the collections have slightly dipped compared to its opening week, the film has already entered the safe zone and is earning profits for the makers. On its release day, They Call Him OG stormed past Rs 100 crore in India, setting a record for Pawan Kalyan’s career. The momentum continued over the weekend, with Day 2 collections at Rs 18.45 crore, Day 3 and Day 4 holding steady at Rs 18.5 crore each. However, from Day 5, the film saw a sharp decline, dropping to Rs 7.4 crore and Rs 7.25 crore on Monday and Tuesday respectively.
About They Call Him OG
Meanwhile, one of the highlights of OG is Thaman’s music. His songs and powerful background score have been widely praised, with many fans crediting them for elevating the impact of the action sequences. Priyanka Mohan, who plays OG’s wife Dr Kanmani, has also won appreciation, with Pawan Kalyan himself stating that no one else could have played the role better. The film introduces Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi to Telugu cinema, where he plays the antagonist Omi Bhau. Pawan Kalyan essays the role of Ojas Gambheera, a feared gangster determined to reclaim his empire and take revenge. The ensemble cast includes Prakash Raj, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, Shaam, Harish Uthaman, Rahul Ravindran and even Jackie Shroff in a cameo appearance.
Despite this dip, the long Dussehra weekend is expected to further push the film’s numbers. Netflix has also bagged the digital rights for a hefty price and will stream the film by the last week of October 2025, adding another win for the makers.
