The Traitors is an upcoming Indian reality show hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar. The show brings suspense, strategy, and drama as contestants try to uncover hidden ‘Traitors’ among them. Adapted from the international hit, it promises intense mind games and shocking twists. Set in a grand location, the series involves betrayal, alliances, and eliminations. With a unique concept, The Traitors has already sparked strong reactions online.

Online Trolls React To The Traitors Trailer

After Traitors’ trailer was dropped on Instagram, many users expressed their displeasure with both the concept and the casting. One user wrote, “Indians are fed up with seeing content like this! With the likes of Karan Johar and others! Same thing, old wine new bottle. Have some mercy on us and give us good content.”  Another harsh comment read, “It’s going to be one shitty show.” A user questioned the appeal, “What is the target audience? Gen Zs or Chapris?”  One viewer expressed concern, writing, “Why are we even promoting this? This level of game isn’t normal.”

An Instagram user also added, “If one has even a little bit of sensitivity and sensibility left, shouldn’t watch this for whatever it takes… horrible sight… destroying whatever values are left in Indian society.” Another sarcastically labelled the show as the “Basta**isation of Raja Mantri Chor Sipahi!” Overall, many users found the trailer ‘annoying’ and called the show a disappointment even before its release.

About The Traitor’s Show and Premiere

Despite the backlash, The Traitors remains one of the most anticipated reality shows of the year. It is an Indian adaptation of a global hit format where 20 contestants must figure out who the hidden Traitors are while completing challenges. At night, Traitors secretly eliminate Innocents, and the group must vote out suspects. If any Traitor survives till the end, they win the prize.

Meanwhile, the show features a mix of celebrities, including Karan Kundrra, Jasmin Bhasin, Raftaar, Raj Kundra, Uorfi Javed, Jannat Zubair, Elvish Yadav, Sumukhi Suresh, Mukesh Chhabra, Anshula Kapoor, Sahil Salathia, Harsh Gujral, Sufi Motiwala, Nikita Luther, Ashish Vidyarthi, Maheep Kapoor, Apoorva Mukhija aka Rebel Kid, Purav Jha, Sudhanshu Pandey, and Elnaaz Norouzi.

The Traitors will premiere on Prime Video on 12th June 2025, with new episodes releasing every Thursday at 8 PM.
