Dawood-Linked Drug Case: Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, widely known as Orry, has been summoned by Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) in connection with a massive Rs 252 crore drug trafficking case. Officials confirmed that he has been instructed to appear before the ANC’s Ghatkopar unit at 10 am on Thursday for questioning. The summons is part of a wider probe into financial and communication links between influencers, celebrities and alleged drug suppliers.

According to reports, his name surfaced during the interrogation of an accused who allegedly organised and supplied drugs at high-profile parties in India and abroad. The investigation centres on a sprawling mephedrone (M-Cat) network with possible links to underworld figures. Several well-known personalities, including Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi, filmmaker duo Abbas-Mustan and rapper Loka, have also been reportedly named by the accused during questioning. Police, however, have not disclosed Orry’s exact role in the case as the inquiry continues.

Meanwhile, according to the remand application, Taher Dola the son of Salim Dola, recently extradited from the UAE told investigators that his father organised ‘drug-fuelled parties’ attended by high-profile celebrities. As per officials, the Dola syndicate is suspected of supplying mephedrone across several Indian states while also exporting it overseas. With multiple agencies including the Enforcement Directorate and the Mumbai Crime Branch now monitoring the case, more public figures may be called in for questioning. Meanwhile, Orry, known for socialising with prominent celebrities and frequently appearing at Page 3 events, has not yet issued a public response to the summons.

Separate FIR Against Orry Over Vaishno Devi Alcohol Incident

On the other hand, this is not the first time Orry has been embroiled in controversy related to substance use. Earlier, he and six others were booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police after a video emerged showing alleged alcohol consumption at a hotel near the Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. The incident, which took place in early January 2024, violated local laws that prohibit serving alcohol within the pilgrimage zone. Following the uproar, the Reasi Police registered an FIR and initiated action against the hotel staff for permitting the violation. Authorities had stated that they would take action against “all individuals seen in the footage,” placing Orry under formal investigation in this case as well.

As the Rs 252 crore drug probe widens, police expect more summonses to be issued to public figures whose names have appeared during interrogation. For now, officers maintain that questioning Orry is a routine part of the investigation.
