Prabhas and Vishnu Manchu's upcoming Telugu movie Kannappa is generating a lot of buzz lately, and for good reason. The movie, which is reportedly being made on a budget of over Rs 200 crore, features two of India's biggest stars, Prabhas and Mohanlal, in key roles. What's even more remarkable is that both Prabhas and Mohanlal have worked on the movie for free, without charging any fees. The Telugu movie is set to be released worldwide on June 27, 2025. With its talented cast, impressive budget, and epic storyline, Kannappa promises to be an unforgettable cinematic experience.
While many anecdotes from the movie have been surfacing on social media, Vishnu Machu, in an interview with SCREEN revealed that Prabhas threatened to kill him. He said, "Both Prabhas and Mohanlal didn’t take a single penny to do the role. Every time I ask them to quote their fees, they would yell at me. They will say: ‘Itne bade aadmi hogaye ho ki humein paise doge?’" Vishnu Manchu said. He further added that both the actors get annoyed when this conversation happens. "Prabhas threatened to kill me," he said.
Meanwhile, Vishnu Manchu also expressed his gratitude towards Prabhas and Mohanlal for their support. "Two people helped me greatly to make the film what it is today: Mohanlal and Prabhas. Mohanlal is such great superstar, he didn’t really have to do a small role in my film, but due to his love and respect for my father, he agreed to do the role in less than a minute," he said. While Prabhas and Mohanlal worked on Kannapa movie for free, Vishnu Manchu also revealed Akshay Kumar charged far less than his standard fees.
