Sunjay Kapur's widow Priya Sachdev Kapur has denied Karisma Kapoor’s legal team's claims that her daughter Samaira’s college fees were unpaid as the managers of the late businessman had not cleared payments. In a hearing over the high-profile inheritance battle, Priya’s lawyer showed receipts of payments being made for the fees.
The Delhi High Court heard Samaira and her brother Kiaan's plea against their stepmom, Priya Sheyl Trehan, on Friday. Priya's lawyer presented receipts showing Samaira's university fees were already paid, Rs 95 lakh per semester, and argued the next installment isn't due until December.
Last week, Karisma's lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani claimed Samaira's two months of university fees in the US hadn't been paid, sparking a dispute. Priya's team shot back, calling it a "publicity stunt," prompting the judge to urge both sides to avoid drama. Justice Singh said, "I don't want to spend more than 30 seconds on this. This question should not come to my court again. I don't want this hearing to be melodramatic."

Industrialist Sunjay Kapur passed away in London in June while playing polo. His children, Samaira and Kiaan, from his second marriage to Karisma Kapoor, are suing his widow Priya Sachdev Kapur, alleging she forged his will to exclude them. On Thursday, Priya's lawyers pushed back, disputing the forgery claims.
Lawyer Rajiv Nayar, representing Priya Kapur, argued, "There is nothing suspicious about a husband giving everything in his assets to his wife. As is the case in my father-in-law's 'will' where everything was given to his wife. "It is a healthy tradition which perhaps has been maintained."
