Kamini Kaushal, who was considered one of the last living legends of the heyday of Hindi cinema, passed away at the age of 98. An old picture that Dharmendra shared online reappeared as social media tributes poured in, bringing the two actors' relationship back into the spotlight. Dharmendra's first co-star was Kamini, and he will always cherish this recollection. For those who don't know, the veteran actor first met Kamini Kaushal years before he rose to prominence as one of the most renowned leading men in Hindi films.
Dharmendra and Kamini Kaushal worked together on the 1965 movie Shaheed. The Sholay actor previously shared a monochromatic photo from their first encounter. In the picture, the late actor was standing next to a youthful Dharmendra, who was smiling as they exchanged pleasantries.
A while back, Dharmendra disclosed the relationship on his official social media handle, aapkadharam. "Pehli film 'Shaheed' ki heroine Kamini Kaushal Ke saath pehli mulaqat ki pehli tasvir Donon ke chihron par massart ikk pyaar bhari introduction," read the caption.

The picture shared in August 2021 has over 65,000 likes, with many on the internet showering the comment section with hearts and crying emojis.
The impact of Kamini Kaushal went well beyond her collaboration with Dharmendra. She starred opposite renowned actors like Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, and Raj Kapoor after starting her career with the critically praised movie Neecha Nagar in 1946. At the age of 95, she made her last performance in Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022.

Kamini Kaushal made appearances in over 90 movies during her career, earning a reputation for playing characters with nuance, dignity, and emotional strength. Shaheed, Nadiya KePaar, Shabnam, Arzoo, and Biraj Bahu are just a few of the most well-known Hindi films on her resume. She continued to command respect from peers and filmmakers while skillfully adjusting to the shifting eras of cinema, from romantic leads to serious roles.
Kamini Kaushal is survived by her three sons, Shravan, Vidur, and Rahul. She passed away at the age of 98 in her Mumbai residence.
