R Madhavan Reveals He Had 4-Hour Look Test For Dhurandhar; Find Out What Director Aditya Dhar Advised Him

Dhurandhar: Ever since the trailer of Dhurandhar was unveiled on Tuesday, November 18, fans have been buzzing about the characters and performances of the cast. Beyond lead actor Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan's role has created waves on social media. The actor will be seen playing the role of Indian spymaster Ajay Sanyal, who plans to counter terrorism in the movie. When Madhavan's first look was unveiled earlier, his transformation for the part left fans wondering if he is playing National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in Aditya Dhar's directorial. At the trailer launch event, Madhavan recalled how he did a four-hour look test and shared a crucial advice from the director to perfect the character's appearance for Dhurandhar.

R Madhavan On His Look Test For Dhurandhar

R Madhavan shared details about his character and how it matched director Aditya Dhar's vision. At the Dhurandhar event, the actor shared, "When I was doing the look test for Dhurandhar, I remember it took us around four hours. We kept feeling like there was one thing missing to get in that character. That’s when Aditya came and said ‘'Maddy, make your lips thinner.' For the entire film, I changed my lip shape (made them thinner), and because of that one small detail, the whole result changed. And then I realized—I am not the master here. I am working with true masters... all of them."

Arjun Rampal Shares His Reaction To Madhavan's Transformation

Arjun Rampal, who also plays a pivotal role in the film, revealed his first reaction upon seeing Madhavan on set in Bangkok. The actor said, "This is the first time I am working with Maddy. Unfortunately, we do not have any scenes together, but I remember the first time I went to the Dhurandhar set - it was Bangkok and it was raining. Maddy was shooting and I thought, who is this actor, quite wonderful, delivering all the dialogues properly. I thought, what a wonderful casting - and it was Maddy. I couldn't recognise him."
