Meanwhile, director Honey Trehan said the sequel goes ‘deeper into the world’ they created earlier. He explained that The Bansal Murders explores the cost of truth and the moral weight of uncovering it, adding that the stakes are far higher this time with a mass murder at the centre of the story. He also expressed pride in premiering the film at IFFI, calling the sequel “darker, more emotional and more personal” than the original. Nawazuddin said returning as Jatil Yadav feels like ‘revisiting a part of myself that never left’. The sequel takes the character into new emotional and moral territory, testing his beliefs as he faces a case full of deceit and manipulation. He added that seeing the film premiere at IFFI before its Netflix release makes the experience even more special.
