Raid 3: Fans of the Raid franchise have reason to celebrate, as Ajay Devgn is all set to return as honest IRS officer Amay Patnaik in Raid 3. The actor will once again team up with director Rajkumar Gupta, marking their third collaboration in the much-loved crime-thriller series. Following the strong impact of the 2018 original and its gripping sequel, the makers are now quietly developing the next chapter. According to early reports, Raid 3 is in its initial stages, with the film expected to release by the end of 2026. The franchise, known for its realistic treatment of high-pressure income tax operations, is gearing up to deliver an even bigger story this time.

A report in Pinkvilla states that the team is keeping all major details under wraps. However, sources claim that Raid 3 will be mounted on a significantly larger scale than the earlier films. The franchise has a reputation for combining sharp storytelling with intense raid sequences, and the third film is expected to raise the bar further. A source close to the project revealed, “The team has been quietly working on the script over the past few months. The conflict in the third part is bigger and more intense than in the first two films. The stakes are higher, and the raid itself will be designed to be much more elaborate. Ajay Devgn’s character will face challenges that the audience has never seen in the franchise before.” This hints at a fresh conflict and a far more dramatic narrative.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that pre-production for Raid 3 will begin around mid-2026, once Ajay Devgn wraps up his ongoing film commitments. Director Rajkumar Gupta is said to be dedicating significant time to perfecting the screenplay, ensuring that the film retains the grounded and authentic tone that fans appreciate. Devgn will reprise his role as the sharp and fearless income tax officer, but this time the challenges he faces are expected to be much tougher. With a bigger raid and a more layered script, the film aims to maintain the franchise’s signature intensity while expanding its scale and ambition.
