Ram Charan's wife, Upasana Kamineni was on the receiving end after encouraging young girls to freeze their eggs since, in her words, it is a woman's biggest giving during a talk at IIT Hyderabad. She has now responded to the social media criticism by sharing a lengthy statement criticizing individuals who questioned her without verifying the facts. The entrepreneur suggested that egg freezing gives women the freedom to decide when they want to get married and start a family while speaking at the career counseling event.

Ram Charan's wife spoke up on this matter on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, referring to it as a 'healthy debate.' Additionally, she thanked her fans for their 'respectful responses.' She said, "Is it wrong for a woman to marry for love instead of giving in to societal pressure? Is it wrong for her to wait until she finds the right partner? Is it wrong for a woman to choose when she wants to have children based on her own circumstances? Is it wrong for a woman to set her goals and focus on her career rather than only thinking of marriage or having children early?"

Upasana further added, "Stay tuned as I voice my opinions on the pleasures/pressures of privilege - that u all have been talking about. Don’t forget to check out my images ! It has very important facts that will help you make the right comments. And for all those sound employers out there - let’s work together to get more women into the workforce."

In addition to her statement, Upasana included what she referred to as a 'fact check,' a personal perspective, and the process of choosing her own timeline. I married for love and companionship at 27 – a choice I made on my own terms. At 29, I decided to freeze my eggs for personal and health reasons. I welcomed my first child at 36 and am now expecting twins at 39. For me, marriage and career are not competing priorities — they are equally meaningful parts of a fulfilled life. But I decide the timeline! That's not privilege, it’s my right"," she concluded her statement.

What Did Upasana Say?

During a recent conversation with IIT Hyderabad students, Upasana discovered an unexpected pattern about young Indians' desires for marriage. "How many of you want to get married?" she asked the students during her conversation. She pointed out that more male students than female students raised their hands in response, indicating a change in women's priorities as they seemed to be more concerned with their professions.

According to Upasana, women should think about protecting their fertility so they can choose when to get married and start a family without sacrificing their financial stability. Sharing a video on her X handle, she said, "The biggest insurance for women is to freeze their eggs. Because then you can choose when to get married, when you want to have kids, on your own terms, when you are financially independent."

Meanwhile, Upasana married Ram Charan in 2012 and in 2023, Klin Kaara, their daughter, was born. The pair happily revealed their second pregnancy in October. Their delight is doubled this time since the celebrity couple is expecting twins this time!
