Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar are one of the most beloved couples in Bollywood. The two are currently basking in the success of their recent works. Yami once again captivated audiences with her strong performance in Haq, while director Aditya delivered the blockbuster action film Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh in the lead. Amid the blockbuster box office run, Aditya is gearing up for Dhurandhar 2, which is slated for release on March 19, 2026. Ahead of this, Yami Gautam revealed what she told Aditya after reading Dhurandhar's 'brilliant' script, expressing that she wished to be part of the action thriller.
In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, Yami Gautam shared her reaction upon reading the script of the film. She revealed that it made her wish that she were a guy so she could be cast in Aditya Dhar's directorial. She said, "When I read his next script, I told him that it was one of those rare moments when I wished I was a guy. The script is so brilliant. It’s such an amazing world."
She also clarified that they keep their personal and professional lives separate. The actress stated, “Regardless, I don’t have that expectation. We respect that professional line. I don’t think that line should be blurred. We’re very clear about it. If he feels that somebody else is a better fit for a part that he’s writing, I would be absolutely fine with it. This understanding was there since the very beginning."

Even though Yami did not feature in the film Dhurandhar, her name was mentioned in the credits slate. Her husband thanked her for the support.
Dhurandhar 2 Release Date: Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, continues to break all records at the box office. Despite facing challenges from Avatar 3 and Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday's recent release Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, it has become of the biggest blockbusters of 2025. Ranveer Singh stars in the lead role alongside Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Manav Gohil, Danish Pandor, Saumya Tandon, Gaurav Gera and Naveen Kaushik.
The makers have locked the sequel for an Eid 2026 release. Dhurandhar 2 is set to hit theatres on March 19, 2026, in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, marking its five-language Pan-India release.
