Life has not been easy for actress Rhea Chakraborty after the death of her then boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput. However, she recently received major relief from the Bombay High Court after it advised the NCB to return her passport. Rhea's passport was seized by the court in connection with the 2020 drugs case linked to SSR's death. On Friday, the actress took to her Instagram handle and announced that she has received her passport back.

Rhea wrote on Instagram, "Patience was my only passport for the past 5 years. Countless battles. Endless hope. Today, I hold my passport again. Ready for my Chapter2! Satyameva Jayate." Her friends like Shibani Dandekar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Amrita Arora and Vikrant Massey showed their support.

The Bombay High Court has delivered a significant ruling in favor of Rhea Chakraborty, directing the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to return her passport. This decision effectively permanently relaxes the bail conditions imposed on her during the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. To understand the context of this development, it's essential to revisit the events that led to this point. Following Sushant Singh Rajput's tragic death, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested and subsequently granted bail. However, one of the conditions of her bail was that she deposit her passport with the NCB. This restriction was intended to ensure her availability for investigation and trial.

Rhea Chakraborty recently filed a fresh application through her advocate, Ayaz Khan, seeking relief from this condition. She argued that the restriction was causing her to lose out on opportunities overseas, which was likely impacting her career and personal life. The NCB, represented by advocate SK Halwasia, opposed her request. They contended that Rhea Chakraborty should be treated like any other citizen and not receive special treatment simply because of her celebrity status. The NCB's stance was clear: she should not be given any ease just because she is a well-known figure.

After carefully considering both sides, Justice Gokhale delivered the court's verdict. The judge noted that there was no reason to doubt Rhea Chakraborty's availability for the trial's conclusion. The court's decision to grant her relaxation was influenced by the fact that other accused in the same case had received similar relief. Moreover, the court highlighted Rhea Chakraborty's cooperation throughout the investigation. She had consistently returned from approved trips, participated in trial proceedings and fully cooperated with the investigation. Given her track record, the court saw no reason to continue imposing the restriction on her passport. With this ruling, Rhea Chakraborty can now regain control over her passport, allowing her greater freedom, including the ability to travel abroad without the current restrictions.
