Kantara Chapter 1: Kantara fans may soon witness their favourite story grow into something much bigger. While actor-director Rishab Shetty has not officially confirmed any plans, he has also not denied the strong buzz surrounding the possibility of a Kantara multiverse. Ahead of the release of Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, Rishab opened up about the scope of the franchise and hinted that its world has many untold stories waiting to be explored. The upcoming film is a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, diving deep into the origins of its mythological traditions and ancestral conflicts.

During a conversation with Pinkvilla, Rishab reflected on handling multiple roles for the film, including acting, directing, and writing. When asked if this creative expansion could lead to a cinematic universe, Rishab chose his words carefully. Without making any direct revelations, he explained, “I don’t know much about that. Kantara surely has its world. Last time we said Kantara: A Legend. Then it became a chapter. Let’s see what we’ll get going forward.” His answer has only fuelled speculation that a larger universe is in the making. Rishab also teased fans about what lies ahead without giving away too much. “I think you’ll connect with the possible ideas ahead. It’s better if you experience it there in Kantara: Chapter 1,” he said, leaving the audience curious.

Meanwhile, the idea of a Kantara multiverse has been circulating among fans for months. With Kantara: Chapter 1 set in 300 CE, the prequel explores the mythological roots of the folklore introduced in the first film. The story is expected to focus on the clash between nature and human greed, laying the groundwork for future instalments that may continue the saga from where the 2022 film left off. According to its official synopsis, Rishab Shetty will portray a warrior-mystic chosen to act as a bridge between mortals and the divine. The film is expected to feature powerful rituals, supernatural forces, and intense tribal struggles, bringing to life an ancient tale that sets the foundation for the Kantara legacy.
