Robbie Robertson, the renowned singer-songwriter and guitarist passed away on August 9 in Los Angeles, after a long battle with age-related illness. The official statement of his demise was released by Robertson's manager. The musician was surrounded by his family at the time of his death and had a successful career span. His final film 'Killers Of The Flower Moon' was directed by Martin Scorsese and will hit theatres in October 2023.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Jared Levine, manager of the late singer, confirmed the demise of the veteran musician with an official statement on Thursday morning. It read, "Robbie Robertson was surrounded by his family at the time of his death, including his wife, Janet, his ex-wife, Dominique, her partner Nicholas, and his children Alexandra, Sebastian, Delphine, and Delphine's partner Kenny. He is also survived by his grandchildren Angelica, Donovan, Dominic, Gabriel, and Seraphina."

It further read, "Robertson recently completed his fourteenth film music project with frequent collaborator Martin Scorsese, 'Killers of the Flower Moon.' In place of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Six Nations of the Grand River to support a new Woodland Cultural Center."

Robbie Robertson was born in Toronto, Canada on July 5, 1943. His musical career began after he joined the popular band 'The Hawkes' at the age of 16. Later on, some of the other members of the band decided to form another music band. They later renamed them 'The Band' and rose to popularity with several big hits including 'Big Pink' and others.
