Lyricist Sameer Anjaan recently made headlines with his candid revelations about his long-standing bond with superstar Salman Khan. While Sameer's career spans thousands of popular songs for numerous actors, his connection with the Khan family runs deep, stemming from a close friendship with Salman's father, the veteran screenwriter Salim Khan. Recently, the lyricist dropped some big revelations about Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai’s alleged break-up, which still happens to be a hot topic for gossip mongers of Bollywood.
Sameer Anjaan, during a recent interview with Shubhankar Mishra, expressed, “We didn’t write the title track of Tere Naam with Salman Khan in mind. But after his breakup with Aishwarya Rai, the song became his personal anthem of heartbreak. Before filming scenes for that song, Salman would call Himesh Reshammiya, ask him to sing it, and then break down in tears."
He further added how much the break-up affected the Bhaijaan of the industry and shared, “Salman was hurting. His wounds were still fresh. Every time on set, before giving a shot, Himesh would sing, and Salman would cry. He wanted the song—especially the line ‘Kyun kisiko wafa ke badle wafa nahi milti’-to reach Aishwarya, to let her feel his pain."

During a recent interview with Vickey Lalwani, director Prahlad Kakkar also opened up about Aishwarya Rai’s heartbreaking split from Salman Khan. Having lived in the same building as Aishwarya Rai at the time, Prahlad Kakkar was well aware of the drama surrounding the high-profile relationship. He revealed that while the breakup was a relief for Rai and her family, it was the subsequent abandonment by the industry that truly wounded her. Prahlad Kakkar explained that Aishwarya felt betrayed because the industry sided with Salman, despite the truth being with her.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sameer Anjaan recently contributed to the 2025 movie Badass Ravikumar, demonstrating his continued presence in Bollywood. Sameer's adaptability was also on display as he participated in recreated versions of his classic hits, like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Beyond composing, he has also voiced his opinion on contemporary industry issues, such as the use of AI in music, showing his continued engagement with the evolution of filmmaking.
