Diljit Dosanjh starrer upcoming Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3 landed in big trouble. Recently, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has written a letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to withhold certification of the movie. In the letter, FWICE requested CBFC not to grant a certificate to Sardaar Ji 3 for featuring Pakistani artists like Hania Aamir, Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar and Saleem Albela. The film is slated to be released on June 27 this year.

The letter read, “In light of recent directives issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B Ministry), prohibiting Pakistani-origin content and collaboration with Pakistani artistes in Indian productions, and the parallel stance adopted by FWICE, we urge CBFC to align with these directives and national interest considerations before proceeding with certification. We appreciate CBFC’s impartial and rigorous certification process and trust that you will give due consideration to this request.”

Earlier, the BJP Chitrapat Kamgar Aghaadi opposed the involvement of Pakistani artists in Sardaar Ji 3. The party asked the CBFC not to allow the movie to be released in Indian theatres. In a statement, BJP Chitrapat Kamgar Aghaadi said “We strongly oppose any Pakistani artiste being associated with Indian cinema. It is the demand of the BJP Chitrapat Kamgar Union that Sardar Ji 3 should not be allowed to receive a censor certificate. This is not just a political issue—it is about national sentiment and the dignity of our country.”

Coming back to Sardaar Ji 3, the movie is a horror comedy. The legendary ghost hunter returns with his ghost friend to take on a haunted UK castle. The spirit defies all his rules and but came across a challenge.

The film stars Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa, Manav Vij, Gulshan Grover, BN Sharma, Deedar Gill, Sapna Pabbi, Jasmin Bajwa and Nikita Grover in pivotal roles. Sardaar Ji 3 has been directed by Amar Hundal and produced by Manmord Singh Sidhu and Gunbir Singh Sidhu. The film has been co-produced by Sandeep Kumar Bansal. The movie was written and screenplay by Dheeraj Rattan and Manila Rattan. Baljit Singh Deo has done the cinematography of the film.
