The 71st National Film Awards ceremony was held today at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, where President Droupadi Murmu honoured the winners. Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey shared the prestigious "Best Actor" award, with Khan receiving his first National Award after a remarkable career spanning over three decades for his role in Jawan. On the other hand, Massey won for his impactful performance in 12th Fail.

Filmmaker Karan Johar received the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment for his 2023 movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Regional films also received recognition, with Bhagavanth Kesari winning Best Telugu Film and Parking winning Best Tamil Film.
