Ra.One movie released in Diwali 2011 starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in lead roles. Directed by Anubhav Sinha best known for his work in movies like Article 15, Thappad, and Mulk among others. The director in a recent interview recalled the film being a flop despite having SRK as the lead. He also revealed the film's reception and the impact on him at that time.

Ra.One director Anubhav Sinha in an interview with YouTube channel Ulta Chashma Uc shared, ““I meet a lot of people who now tell me they like Ra.One, but at that time, the film was declared a flop. There was a lot of pain after it flopped. I made a film with Shah Rukh Khan and it was a flop and people didn’t like it at that time. That film broke me emotionally. It took time for me to recover from that.” He further spoke about his work experience with Shah Rukh Khan.

Anubhav Sinha shared, “I was very fortunate that I was able to meet Shah Rukh Khan. I value him more than a star and an actor. Even if I don’t work with him ever, but I know him as a person and that is enough for me, you learn a lot from him. He is a very passionate, compassionate person. Despite all the stardom, he has a middle-class mind. You can learn all of these things from him.” When asked b about future work plans with SRK he replied, “Of course, I would love to work with him, but I don’t have a story for him now and he also will not have time for me now.”

About Ra.One Movie

The movie tells the story of Shekhar Subramanium, a game designer who creates an AI-powered game in which the antagonist, Ra One (played by Arjun Rampal), is more powerful than the protagonist, G One (played by Shah Rukh Khan). With groundbreaking visual effects and high-octane action sequences, Ra One was one of the most expensive Indian films ever made at the time. However, it did not perform well at the box office.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Work Front

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan recently won the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in Jawan. Directed by Atlee, the movie starred him alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. The 59-year-old actor was last seen in 2023's Dunki, and is now gearing up for King. This movie is special as it will mark his daughter Suhana Khan’s theatrical debut. The movie also reportedly stars Deepika Padukone and Rani Mukerji.
