Dalljiet Kaur, a popular name in the TV industry, gained recognition for being a part of famous serials like Kulvaddhu, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, and Kaala Teeka. Just like her career’s success, the actress’ personal life was also a hot topic of discussion for the gossipmongers. Dalljiet was married to TV actor Shalin Bhanot, who made headlines during his participation in Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 16. The duo first met on the sets of Kulvaddhu, and after dating for some time, they tied the knot in 2009. Shalin and Dalljiet welcomed a baby boy after a successful marriage of five years. But within a year of Jaydon’s birth, the actress accused Shalin Bhanot of domestic violence and filed for divorce.

Dalljiet Kaur recently opened up about Shalin’s sudden disappearance from their son’s life and expressed her disappointment towards him. The actress, during an interview with Free Press Journal, shared that Shalin left a void in their son Jaydon’s life, which has been very unfair for him. She stated that Jaydon looked for his father in those years, and Shalin was not there.

The actress mentioned, “One moment you’re there, the next you just vanish. That’s exactly what happened, and it was shocking. For me, it was always about what’s best for Jaydon. When the time came to redeem himself, he disappeared - not from me, but from his child. Jaydon looked for him in that void, and no child should ever have to go through that.”

Dalljiet Kaur also revealed that for her son’s sake, she shared a mutual understanding with the Bigg Boss contestant and allowed him to visit Jaydon occasionally. Dalljiet mentioned that after nine years, Shalin abandoned his child all of a sudden and now their son has to live with that. “For nine years he was present. He came home, attended birthdays, met him in restaurants. I always welcomed him because Jaydon deserved his father. But then suddenly, after nine years, he disappeared. Children don't understand divorce or anger.”

Further, the actress opened up about how Shalin’s parents never wanted to get involved in the situation, therefore, she never expected anything from them. But Shalin’s disappearance made Jaydon question himself. The actress stated that her son asked several questions, but she had no answers for him.

For the unversed, after her divorce from Shalin Bhanot, Dalljiet Kaur remarried to a UK-based businessman Nikhil Patel. They first met at a friend’s party in Dubai in 2022, and as single parents, they bonded over conversations about their children. The duo soon fell in love and tied the knot in 2023. Dalljiet and her son Jaydon moved to Kenya to live with Nikhil and his daughter. But Dalljiet and Nikhil’s marriage was short-lived as the actress accused him of infidelity and moved back to India just after 10 months of their union.
