Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha took to social media to wish his 'dear friend' Reena Roy on the occasion of her 69th birthday. Marking the special day, he shared a series of nostalgic stills from films they had worked on together, accompanied by a heartfelt note. The post quickly drew attention online, especially in light of their much-discussed association in the past.

In his message, Shatrughan described Reena Roy as one of the finest actresses of her time, praising her enduring charm, gracious personality and warmth as a human being. He extended his birthday wishes with a blessing-filled note, expressing hope that she remains happy and abundantly blessed always. He wrote, "Loving birthday wishes for a very dear friend, one of the best actresses ever, ever-charming star, a great human being, wonderful personality in totality #ReenaRoy. In an earlier interview with Lehren Retro, Shatrughan Sinha had candidly admitted to being unfaithful to his wife, Poonam Sinha, during a phase when his co-star Reena Roy was a part of his life. Without naming anyone directly, the veteran actor acknowledged having made 'mistakes' and reflected on how the emotional turmoil of that period and the resulting love triangle had a significant impact on his mental well-being.

Sinha had said, "I wouldn't take names. But I am grateful to all the women who were part of my life. I don't have any grudges against anybody. I never think ill of them. They have all helped me grow and become a better person."

"When a man is good at heart, and he is having two committed relationships simultaneously, he too suffers a lot in terms of his mental and physical health. You also feel guilty. Talking about mistakes, the actor said, "I have definitely made mistakes in my life. It was natural for a boy who had come all the way from Patna to get lost in the glitz and glamour of the industry. I didn't know how to deal with stardom. People get lost in all this. I didn't have any guardian to guide me. However, after Poonam came into my life, she helped me a lot."

Shatrughan Sinha and Reena Roy first crossed paths on the sets of Kalicharan (1976), a collaboration that marked the beginning of both a successful on-screen pairing and a rumoured close personal bond. Following the film, the two went on to share screen space in several projects, including Milap, Sangram, Sat Sri Akal and Chor Ho To Aisa, working together frequently during that phase of their careers. As they continued to collaborate on multiple films, their association reportedly grew stronger. However, this chapter eventually took a turn when Shatrughan Sinha announced his marriage to Poonam Sinha, bringing an end to the much-discussed phase of their relationship.
