Shilpa Shirodkar, a popular actress of the 90s, is best remembered for her roles in movies like Kishen Kanhaiya, Hum, and Pehchaan among others. Known for her charm and on-screen presence, she starred alongside top heroes of her time, including Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda, and Anil Kapoor. After taking a break from films, she made a successful return to television and recently appeared on Bigg Boss 18. Shilpa Shirodkar in a recent interview opened up about a shocking rumour from the sets of her 1995 movie Raghuveer, which left her family in panic.

Shilpa Shirodkar in an interview with Pinkvilla shared, “There Was a Headline That I Had Been Shot Dead.” The Bigg Boss 18 fame recalled the moment when rumours spread that she had been shot dead during the filming of Raghuveer, which starred Suniel Shetty in the lead role. “I was in Kullu Manali. My dad was trying to call the hotel because we didn’t have mobile phones at that time. I was shooting with Suniel Shetty there. Everyone who was watching the shoot there kept thinking if this is Shilpa or someone else because they knew the news,” she said.

Meanwhile, when she returned to her hotel room, she found 20-25 missed calls and was told there was a newspaper headline claiming she had been shot dead. Her parents were understandably panicked. Shilpa later discovered from the film’s producer that the death rumour was actually a part of a promotional strategy for the film. “When he told me, I was like ‘Okay’. Yes, thoda zyada hogaya (it went a bit too far). There was no PR activity or anything at that time. I was the last one to know that something like this was going to happen. No one used to take permission at that time,” she shared.

Despite the scare, Shilpa didn’t hold any grudges. “The film worked well, so I wasn’t really angry,” she added.
